How will my donation be used?
When making your gift, you choose which fund your donation supports. If you select the Best Use Fund, your gift goes to the highest priority projects across Rocky Mountain National Park, supporting conservation, education, and stewardship initiatives. Other funds, such as Wildlife, focus on specific areas within the park. Every gift helps protect and preserve the park for current and future generations.
Does my donation count toward a membership?
No. Memberships and donations are processed separately. For audit and tax purposes, a donation cannot be used to cover membership dues.
If you would like your support to include a membership, please use the membership form or let the Conservancy know at the time of your gift.
What is the difference between a donation and a membership?
Donations and memberships are both essential, but they serve different purposes. Donations directly support conservation, education, research, and stewardship projects in Rocky Mountain National Park. Memberships help sustain the Conservancy’s core operations and connect you with a community of park supporters committed to Rocky’s future.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
Yes. 100% of your gift is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Because every individual’s situation is different, please consult your tax advisor for specific guidance.
The Rocky Mountain Conservancy is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Tax ID: 84-0472090.
Why are the membership page and license plate donation page separate?
Memberships and license plates are separate programs, each with its own benefits and processing systems. IRS requirements mean these programs must be kept separate from general donations. If you would like to join, renew, or support Rocky through a license plate purchase, please use the dedicated pages for those programs.
Will I receive a receipt for my donation? What if I give monthly?
Yes. Online donations receive an immediate email confirmation at the time of payment. Official tax letters are mailed by the Conservancy within about two weeks for gifts made directly to the organization. Monthly donors receive one consolidated annual tax receipt each February for the prior year’s giving.
How do I update, change, or cancel my monthly donation?
To change your gift amount, update your card or bank information, pause or cancel your monthly gift, or switch which fund it supports, please contact the Conservancy.
