Pin – RMNP North American Wildlife Series Rainbow Trout

The Rainbow Trout is native to the streams of the Pacific Coast from Alaska to Baja, California, but has been introduced in streams and lakes all over the U.S. The ideal water temperature for Rainbow Trout is about 55F to 60F. They will occupy warmer waters up to 80F, but will feed little and grow slowly. They have a highly variable diet including insects, plankton, fish eggs, and smaller fish. They live a maximum of 11 years.
