One of the most watched animals in the park now available as a pin! The elk is the second largest species of deer in the world. During the fall mating season, bull elk gather harems of females, bugling their dominance to other males. European settlers reduced the population of elk from 10 million to less than 100,000 by 1900. Today, the population is increasing and there are about one million elk in the U.S and Canada.
